Instructor: Vickie Culligan, Artistic Director and founder of Poppins Children’s Theatre. Vickie has an extensive background in musical theatre. She is a producer, director, teaching artist, choreographer and performer, who has been teaching and directing both adults and youth theatre groups for over 20 years. Vickie majored in theatre at Southern Connecticut State University and studied voice with various teachers including the Hartt School of Music and Betty McDonald.

Special insights: CAST Main Stage production provides a high energy environment for children to learn all areas of a live theatre production. From singing, dancing, and acting to set design construction and implementation. While there is always a supervisor in the rehearsal space there are times participants are required to work independently with their peers and scene partners on various scenes. CAST encourages “outside voices” therefore creating boisterous environment. Please note we are a large group and do not have the capability to provide one on one supervision. While no theatre experience is necessary to join our CAST main stage program all participants must be able to follow rules and direction in this highly creative theatrical environment.
