Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

In this 3 session extension of the Hands on Healthy Cooking Class for Kids, participants will continue to develop knife and general cooking skills, food safety knowledge, as well as the ability to read and follow recipes. Kids will have the opportunity to learn how to make fun and healthy items like easy ravioli, healthier cornbread muffins, soup, special nutrient dense burgers, and treats such as chocolate dipped strawberries, cookies, and “caramels”. Participants will continue to learn to examine health labels and to identify deceptive food advertising but will also begin to examine the concept of nutrient density in food choices.

This class is for children in Grades 5&Up or if they have taken Hands On Healthy Cooking Class previously.
